Motors of war
The “Motors of War” exposition presents a collection of unique automotive vehicles showing the complexity of the technical development of the countries participating in World War II.
You can see and compare the materiel of the allies of the anti-Hitler coalition: first of all, the USSR, as well as the UK, Canada, USA, South Africa. Enemy’s materiel - the states of "axis is represented by cars developed in Germany, Italy, Czechoslovakia, France and Japan.
The hall contains military vehicles in all their diversity: commander’s off-road vehicles, trucks and ambulances, motorcycles, armored personnel carriers, tractors and special vehicles for various purposes.
There is no such a complete and diverse collection in any museum in Russia and, possibly, in the world. The exhibition of cars is complemented by special trailers for transporting anti-aircraft guns and searchlights, mortars, communications equipment, field power supply, etc. The carts of horse-drawn vehicles which were widely used during the war by all countries are also presented: ammunition and sanitary carts, single-axle trailers for transporting the wounded, field kitchens. Many exhibits are preserved in a single copy.
The presented exposition is part of the Vyacheslav Len collection, which has about a hundred units of various equipment. All these unique exhibits were, at one time, active participants in the Second World War in Europe and the Far East.
